Pros

I learned a lot from some of the most talented people while I was working there. I met some lifelong friends and contributed to many outcomes. My time at Labster was generally filled with good memories and a lot of great collaboration with my team and with other teams.

Cons

The company didn’t scale properly, and the issues began after COVID. There was a massive surge in new users, leading to rapid but poorly managed growth, as the company failed to adapt to the changing landscape (with schools being closed, more customers were using the platform). Once the pandemic subsided, things began to decline. Poor management decisions, incompetent leadership, and a toxic work environment—where people prioritized saying what they thought others wanted to hear rather than addressing real issues—only made matters worse. As a result of these failures, rushed decisions were made, further deteriorating processes. This ultimately led to yet another round of layoffs—following two previous ones—cutting an additional 25% of the workforce, including some of the most talented people I have ever met.
