Pros

When the owner was at the helm this company thrived. Unfortunately, COVID changed all that.

Cons

Downsized dramatically, team changed, new ownership after the passing of the original owner.

Pros

Professional, full-service catering company. If this is your field of work, as it was mine for quite some time, you can learn a lot from La Prima. For the most part, all of the staff are super friendly, kitchen and office staff. There are always opportunities to learn and do more. I also very much like their green status and environmental efforts.

Cons

The hours are not great, working 9+ hours per day. The pay is barely competitive. Lunch is not free, they charge $3.00 per day out of your paycheck. The President needs to adjust his attitude. He initially comes off as very kind and friendly to his staff, but it's a thin veneer. It is clear he feels he is above many of the staff. As a customer service representative, we were expected to have the coffee supplies (cups, creamer, sugar, stirrers, etc.) for the president every morning. At least on one occasion, I was scolded for not having cups available for him. On another occasion, he scolded me for being away from my desk. Let me get this straight, I don't mind doing stuff beyond my scope of work for the boss. I do mind when she/he isn't willing to do it themselves. For example, I make coffee for my current boss every single day. But if I don't or am late guess what happens....she makes it herself. What a revalation.
