Corporate does not give a crap about its workers and doesnt listen to the people they appointed as managers. We used to get bonuses and awards. That stopped. We used to get free gas from dismantled vehicles, since the tanks have to be drained and the gas disposed of somehow. LKQ decided to take that away from us and pay an outside company to take it so they could get points points for some bogus green energy score. HR is pathetic and useless. We had a former employee who would drag the entire team down every day he was there. He would barely get any work done when he was there and he would mess with others work areas. His entire reason for being there was seemingly to be openly defiant and show the world his delight in non-compliance. He would boom his obnoxiously loud speakers in the parking lot. One of his coworkers repeatedly complained to HR and repeatedly made it known that he was going to call the police and file a noise complaint, and he was only ever told to do what he had to do. Then when he finally did it after weeks of waiting for a resolution, he was given a written final warning. It took LKQ months to finally fire the problem employee, and when they did, they paid him a week or two of his normal wage, even though he was at -100 (yes, negative one hundred) hours of PTO. There was another former employee that I was told sexually assaulted another employee, and he was not fired. Thankfully he was fired later for something unrelated. Then recently there was an LKQ employee appreciation day. What a joke. Theyve already proven they dont care one bit about us. Im glad I work at the Buckley location, but Im very certain thats as far as I would want my LKQ career to go.
