Pros

The team, sans management, is great. Funny, smart, and hardworking people who you'll end up bonding with due to late hours and shared suffering.

Cons

In a snapshot: heavy workload, low pay and poor benefits (no overtime even if you work weekends and/or repeated late nights), verbal abuse and unrealistic expectations from management, lack of transparency in work policies, hostile environment. I cannot stress enough how horrible this experience was. Employees are constantly under intense stress and pressure because of the unreasonable workload and deadlines. Management is costantly monitoring the employees and directing their each move, literally shaming them for any small mistake. Yet on their side, they are so disorganized that the task of executing a large-scale event is forced onto the employees with a timeframe of a few weeks to complete (a type of event that should take months to plan even with a larger team). Maybe if they were not so intent on milking their employees and clients for money, they would realize that with these unrealistic workloads, the quality of the company is falling because more routine tasks get pushed to the side. Every task becomes incredibly inefficient because the usability of our main tools (our database or website for example) has not been updated since the 90's. Even the design and branding of LeBook is tacky and outdated, but management is so single visioned they will not listen to employees. Small fact: the office does not provide the employees with potable water, which by nyc labour law, is one of the basic requirements for the workplace. A simple indicator of how little the company cares about their employees.
