Pros

A large and well-known customer base makes it exciting to talk about what the company does. Management is young (which may also be a con) and has great product and process knowledge. The company's involvement in charitable organizations is admirable and impressive, as are their strides toward adapting to environmental issues. LBP provides exciting career opportunities. In my experience, management is open to an individual forging their own success by bringing in results, though apparently, from reading other posts, there are exceptions.

Cons

The social structure is remniscent of high school, though less tolerable because adults perpetuate the sophmoric behavior... There's a definite sense of the "haves" and "have nots" at LBP. Valuable input is being overlooked simply because the provider of that information hasn't won favor of the "in crowd".

Pros

Met some great people and developed a few life long friendships.

Cons

All of the other reviews about the "haves and the have nots" couldn't be more true. This company has been base on favoritism for all of the 10 years that I worked there. People have been promoted into positions that they have no business in and are allowed to remain just because they are part of the "inner circle". When you have managers that run their departments from behind their desk by e-mail instead of coming out and actually interacting with the employees in their department, something is not right. And they are allowed to get away with it? I guess that is why all of the good people that used to work there have either left or are in the process of finding other employment. ( you know who they are ). No one that I talk to in this industry has anything good to say about this company. They laugh at me when I tell them where I used to work. It is embarrassing to the the point where I just don't even mention it.
