Pros

The people can be nice depending on the department. The upper management is incredibly optimistic and are willing to forge into new products and markets. Great benefits and 401K is decent. Core products perform well. Lax dress code. If you do your job, you can work 8:30am-5pm with few problems. The core aspects of your job will probably not change other than who happens to be managing you at that particular time. The commute and highway access is pretty easy.

Cons

There is very little transparency on the companies finances and performance. The bonus and raise structure are not tied to performance and seem to be handed out arbitrarily. Leadership and vision are not defined. Once you are hired for a role, moving up is nearly impossible unless you stay for a very long time. Long time employees have a sense of entitlement. As with other reviews, there are the haves and the have not's. Some people are put in crucial roles with very little oversight and manage to stay with the company even though performance is sub par and designate most of the work to underlings. There are very few young employees under 35 as many don't stay long after finding out they will not move up and their careers will advance faster elsewhere else. Organizational structure is very top heavy with directors and VP's. Entire departments have been gutted and reworked in recent years. Annual restructuring is an almost certainty. SWOT analysis needs to improve. They enter crowded markets with inferior product at high price point. Vacation policy is wonky with only 4 personal days for the first year on the job. You have to work for two years to get 2 weeks vacation. Project work is dictated by a select few and can/will get bulldozed through the departments. Importance of marketing efforts are overlooked. Other than first week training, there isn't any effort to develop current employees for other roles. Overall, if you are just looking to come in for 8 hours a day and do what you're told and never deviate from that formula...this job is for you.

Pros

Met some great people and developed a few life long friendships.

Cons

All of the other reviews about the "haves and the have nots" couldn't be more true. This company has been base on favoritism for all of the 10 years that I worked there. People have been promoted into positions that they have no business in and are allowed to remain just because they are part of the "inner circle". When you have managers that run their departments from behind their desk by e-mail instead of coming out and actually interacting with the employees in their department, something is not right. And they are allowed to get away with it? I guess that is why all of the good people that used to work there have either left or are in the process of finding other employment. ( you know who they are ). No one that I talk to in this industry has anything good to say about this company. They laugh at me when I tell them where I used to work. It is embarrassing to the the point where I just don't even mention it.
