Pros

Great clients, fun projects, amazing team, learn a lot in a short space of time.

Cons

Staff are underpaid, overworked with barely any benefits other than the occasional staff social. ZERO senior management other than the company founder, who also takes on the role of creative director. Don't pay interns a living wage Holiday leave not respected with team members being contacted for incredibly menial pieces of info Standard notice period is 8+ weeks, notice is to be taken entirely in secret until 'announced' to the studio a week before your last day. Founder's idea of 'banter' is actually just a means of belittling people.

Pros

LAYER is a good place to work, as you get to work across lots of different types of projects. The studio is very fast-paced and there are high expectations, but there are lots of opportunities and the team is very talented. We all got on well at work and also socially.

Cons

Pace can be intense and demanding at times.

Pros

The projects you get to work on and the clients you get to work with as a designer are great. The team is also inspiring and it's a really social studio – we often go for drinks together after work and have regular studio socials. The location in Hackney is also excellent.

Cons

Like any fast-paced studio, deadlines can be tight but that’s the nature of working at a leading design agency.
