Pros

The benefits are great and one of the main reasons people stay here. Switching to a more remote focus provides additional flexibility. The overall mission is excellent, and the other main reason people stay. The Kumon Program truly is great, and that really helps. It used to be an interesting job and felt meaningful, but that changes more everyday.

Cons

There has been constant downsizing and restructuring over the past year. The employees who are left are all super overworked. The program requires a lot of training so even if they hire to replace the additional staff who have left on their own, it will take a while to have true help - and the new “fully staffed” is still way understaffed. More responsibilities are given with fewer employees. It costs a lot more to hire and train new staff then to retain (especially with some of the abysmal salaries) and all these cuts are short sighted. The focus everywhere seems to be on cutting $$ and making more $$ even if it means cutting corners and having an inferior product.

Cons

Its hard to get more hours especially if the center doesn't have that many students.
