Pros

I think one of the best things about working for Kukuspeak is the staff; they have an incredibly laid-back, friendly set of people that are really nice to work with - in fact, perhaps the nicest I've ever had the privilege of working with. Kukuspeak is a very small company, which results in a very nice atmosphere.

Cons

Due to what seems to be a very huge amount of hiring new teachers, combined with the smallness of the company, work really slowed down about a year ago. A lack of work is why I left. The pay is also very low compared to other online ESL companies.

Pros

working from home..Thats about it

Cons

Do not work for this company! These are the reasons why: 1. The pay is minimal. You get paid 4-5 dollars for a 25 minute lesson..You can only fix in two lesson per hour so that is only at the most 10 dollars an hour. You are worth way more as a teacher. I am getting paid twice as much for another employer 2. They will deduct money from you any chance they get. They have told me themselves that certain areas of the company are struggling financially. That is why they could not put together a combination inperson/online school. So if you have a power outage..or your modem goes down, then not only do you not have the class, sometimes they even DEDUCT DOUBLE from you. They will even suspend classes and forget they did it and accuse you of taking the time off the calendar and they will suspend you for it 3. I signed a full time contract with them. They ended up breaking the contract because their school which they did not have the money for failed miserable. In their own contract it states that when it happens, whoever breaks that contract has to pay a 300 dollar breaking fee. They tried to get me to sign the new contract before paying my fee as a contingency and I had to throw a fit to get the fee I was deserved. When I had surgery and had to go back to part time, they took they break fee back IMMEDIATELY 4. They have a new plan where they reformatted the lessons from the textbook which I think is fantastic but now you have a script of what to say and when. You are not allowed to use your talents you were supposedly hired for. You are robots reading a script 5. The study advisors whose job is to book lessons and ensure people want to pay to student, will continuously tell you how to do your job, even though they have not taught a day in their lives. This is just a little of what goes on...Trust me..this is not a good company. If you want to work for nothing...by all means go ahead.

Pros

*Work from home *Great students *Open communication with students and advisors *Flexible schedule *They have material you can use or you can use your own if the student agrees. *I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They never deducted any pay from me, but I did exactly what the asked me to. Please and thank you go a long way with them. I worked for them for a little over a year. I only left, because I had enough of my own private students.

Cons

*The pay starts out low. (But if you work hard and follow the rules, you do get pay raises. The rate depends on how well you do as a teacher.)
