Pros
The work is meaningful and valuable to the community
Cons
The directors/leadership distrust and dislike each other, many are not informed of the mission of Community Action as mandated by the federal government in response to the Civil Rights movement. This work is about humanity, not politics. You're going to serve black people, gay people, atheists, Muslims, Christians, trans people, people who vote in column a or column b. You don't get to bring your hateful beliefs about those folks into the work you do. But they do anyway, constantly.
