Pros

Being fully remote is a big plus for me. The team is great - everyone is quick to jump in and help you get things sorted quickly. I feel like I’m actually respected to make decisions without having to get everything signed off. People are ready to change and move quickly. I’ve had lots of opportunities to grow and I’m always proud to look back and see how far I have come.

Cons

It can be hard work and things can get pretty busy juggling different projects. I don’t live close to the people I work with so we don’t get to socialise outside of work.

Pros

Coworkers are genuinely supportive and willing to guide you along the way.

Cons

- There's a possibility that your time here pulls your career in a completely different direction than intended. - Feedback on work from c-level is often vague at best — apparently, the ability to "read between the lines" is a required skill here. I also still wonder whether "NOW" actually counts as a project deadline. - Check work email when you sense any changes within the company, you might find something interesting.

Pros

To the few good people who are working at Kody now and are simply sticking it out, credit to you.

Regardless of what you think about the integrity of Glassdoor ratings in general, if you take a step back and consider that Kody’s ratings have been SO POOR over a long period of time, this will tell you that it’s not a fluke or only a few disgruntled employees venting their frustrations. Statistically, so many low-scoring reviews over a long period mean that these experiences are no longer outliers; they are the norm. At the time of posting this review, Kody’s Glassdoor score was 2.2 / 5. I asked ChatGPT and Gemini whether this was considered a poor score through a cultural lens. AI went to work and presented the following descriptions of how bad the score was: A flashing red siren A toxic benchmark A badge of dishonour A chronic dysfunction A system failure The list goes on. It’s also worth noting that every single founding employee and co-founder has left or been exited by the current C-Suite, who now have full “control” and “monitor” all employees’ activity. Experienced leaders have come and gone. One leader left within a few months when they realised the Executive team and the business were not in a fit state. Employee benefits that Kody said they offered in previous Glassdoor responses do not exist. Employee benefits had been promised but never provided (even though HR posted on Glassdoor that these were offered, this is, however, untrue), which then calls into question the integrity of the HR team and executive leadership. What else have they gaslighted employees about? You just need to read the other reviews. Kody will no doubt look to reply or spin this review with an AI-assisted response saying that start-ups are not for everyone, and Kody cares about honest dialogue and is proud of its achievements, etc. Everyone can plainly see what it’s really like to work at Kody, no matter how many times they post a generic, hacked-together reply to counter each review. Kody has proactively replaced headcount with possibly cheaper resources as a mercenary strategy to manage business cash flow. There are times when tough decisions have to be made to manage a business; however, while you are working there, you will always have a target on your back, and you could easily be the next one out the door. You might even have to train your replacement before you are shown the door. Why would you join and trust a business that has chaotic and controlling leadership, a toxic gaslighting culture led from the top and advocated by middle management (one can only guess that they are locked in due to golden-handcuffs) who lie about the benefits they offer, constant employee churn every month, and has exited easily more than 30% of the workforce from the business to save on costs over the past 12-18 months? If your answer is still “yes” even after reading all the reviews, then good luck to you.
