Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

Lied to from the beginning. No input into team selection. Overhired by far and then brutally cut the hours of my team. Head office just kept suggesting sampling to help sales. Pressure to grow the business with absolutely no support from marketing. Head office is in dissaray with UK ops suddenly just disappearing from the business completely. Regional manager supposedly changing roles but didn't and area managers who are telling store managers how much chaos it all is. Every launch was a farce. Ran out of promotional stock within 3 days of a promotion launching, estate wide. Was given no management team bar myself for the first 2 months and no additional pay for this and targets linked to bonus that were so unattainable that I did not even get to 60% of target, even upon opening week. When i showed footfall patterns and suggested changing hours it was met with a resounding no, so they cut my teams hours kept the store open at the same times and asked why reviews started to suffer. Had an incident of racist abuse between staff and when as a store manager i pushed to relieve the perpetrator of their duties i was denied. All evidence of how little Knoops value or care for there staff. A real shame.

Pros

I’ve had a really positive experience working at Knoops. The people are a real standout supportive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which creates a great working atmosphere day to day. There’s a strong sense that the business is growing, with exciting projects and new ideas coming through regularly, which keeps things interesting and makes it feel like you’re part of something evolving. I’ve also really valued the level of flexibility, which makes it easier to maintain a good work life balance and feel trusted in your role.

Cons

In terms of downsides, benefits outside of the day-to-day perks are fairly limited. While the free drinks are a nice touch, there isn’t a particularly extensive benefits package compared to some other companies, which could be improved as the business continues to grow.

Pros

- Great autonomy as Store Manager to shape store operations and team dynamics. - Strong supportive culture from both head office and team members. - Clear opportunities to develop management skills and grow within the brand. - Engaging work environment that keeps every shift interesting and rewarding. - High-quality products and brand reputation make customer interactions positive.

Cons

- Opening shifts are quite long, which can feel challenging if you’re not accustomed to early starts or extended opening hours. - Labour allocation is kept tight, though there’s flexibility to increase staffing levels during peak trading periods. Honestly, there are no major downsides to note just small operational points that are manageable.
