Pros

I enjoy interacting with others. The photography business is one of joy, these portraits are a luxury purchase. Pleasing my customers, and being able to market to them and initiate contact, photograph the session, sell the package, process images, and the best part, delivering the finished product. I have control over all customer interaction, in this way I am able to leave nothing to doubt about their experience at Knoll Studio, a family business serving families for 97 years.

Cons

The photographic industry is in decline. From the advent of digital technology, the economic slump 10 years back led to the market becoming over saturated. The "Mom and Pop" portrait studios that used to be in nearly every small town in America, are nearly extinct. Many of my peers have sold out, retired, or found other sources of income. I am seeking to hang onto my business as long as I can, but need to supplement my income, which is not sufficient as a sole means of support.
