Poor company to work for - Locksmith Keytek Employee Review

Couple of jobs a day. Good experience at how to rip people off.

They split labour at 60/40 in there favour. Parts are the same but they also add 10% onto purchase price so it's actually 70/30. Average job you get £28 then deduct tax, fuel and expenses you normally left with less than £10 profit if you travel any further than 20 miles you often make a loss if you follow HMRC guidance for fuel expense ect. Sub contracted for over 7 years and most the people there don't even know who I am yet alone completing there NCFE course. They expect you to drive 40+ miles then get angry if you decline. Describing the jobs is a stab in the dark often getting the job completely wrong. Prob op UPVC door normally means locked out of a wooden door mortice ect Ran by people who have zero locksmith experience and there tec team is about a useful as a chocolate fire guard. 24/7 help??? they are normally closed by 8pm. Course is over priced and teaches very basic stuff. There are better companies out there that offer better splits and actually know who you are. Advertising as local??? Expect you to deal with disgruntled customers and you go back to any recalls for free or they take it out your wages regardless of your situation.

You really feel like you are part of a team and part of a, forgive the cliché, a family. Various roles with varying hours that can suit everyone and their situations. Everyone has a say and is allowed to present ideas and projects. New management over the last couple of years completely changing the dynamic and trying to correct the bad opinions that have been formed over the years. Potential for progression and skill building for the future.
