Pros

The air conditioning works fine, and while the owner bills hourly employees for accidentally setting off the security alarm, he hasn’t yet charged them for utilities to keep his law firm running—a place built on greed and deception.

Cons

I resigned from the firm due to billing practices and relentless pressure to meet billable requirements that conflicted with my personal values. Additionally, there were several concerning issues: 1. There was pressure to write positive reviews, which seemed aimed at artificially boosting the firm’s online rating. 2. Employees were encouraged to handle trust monies in ways that felt unethical to meet billable targets. 3. The firm had non-qualified staff preparing income tax returns for clients, despite a lack of tax expertise. 4. Raises and bonuses were often withheld, creating financial uncertainty for staff. 5. There was even talk of charging employees personally for accidental triggers of the office security system. 6. Staff were required to participate in uncomfortable weekly sessions with someone not employed by the firm, seemingly to gather information about other employees. 7. The firm experienced a significant turnover of staff, leading to an overworked and undertrained workforce. Working here could potentially put your professional license at risk. Consider this a warning.

Pros

Caring. Customer-focused. Fair to workforce (sometimes too much so).

Cons

Experienced growing pains and accepted for too long vindictive and negative behavior in hope behavior would adjust from people who no longer are her.

Pros

Leaving at 4pm on Friday.

Cons

The firm asks employees to write reviews here, and people are afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs, so I’d take any positive reviews with a grain of salt. Owner is all over the place, has no clear vision and micromanages his staff to the point of causing one to wonder why he’s not running a one man show. Hourly rates of attorneys are equivalent to those of a corporate litigation firm, and clients are billed to the point where they can no longer afford to put food on their table or they are dropped. None of the staff is happy. There is a fake and forced “culture” led by an office manager who regularly writes people up for having personal conversations during work hours. Promises are made by the owner but if they are not in writing (and read the fine print if they are because there is likely a loophole in there somewhere) there will be no recollection of having made that promise. People leave and are not replaced because there is not enough business. Employees in other countries are hired at the equivalent of $6/hr and expected to perform duties well behind their job description. Depressing environment in a dark and windowless office and just an overall miserable place to spend a day.
