Inconsistent Communication - Format Producer Keyper (CA) Employee Review

Working with Keyper Company has been a highlight of my career. I’ve been in the entertainment business since 2008, behind and in front of the camera, and very few companies have exceeded my expectations the way they have. From day one, the communication has been clear, professional, and incredibly efficient. There’s a genuine respect for everyone’s role on set, which makes collaboration seamless. The working environment is warm, welcoming, and driven by excellence. The team culture balances high standards with mutual support. Every project feels intentional, well-structured, and creatively ambitious. Keyper Company sets the bar for how productions should be run.

From my perspective there aren’t any cons.

unlimited budget for dumb ideas

I PA’d on this video where the premise was that they picked up a bunch of migrant laborers from Home Depot to cover their entire kitchen in peanut butter. The inexperienced director had no clue how this was insensitive, and on top of that he kept calling the cast of hispanic actors the wrong names no matter how many times he was corrected. He was a nice guy but was so out of touch and is a lawsuit waiting to happen, yet he has full support of the family and their company. When we hit meal penalty and overtime the Dad yelled at the painters and illegally threatened to not pay one of them when they simply asked if they’d be ending soon. The poor AD wasn’t allowed to do his job, I got paid more than him as a PA because he didn’t even get overtime since he was doing a trial period, which is definitely illegal, yet they still didn’t even offer him the full-time position after producing successful videos. They have churned through most of the LA film industry, have constant employee turnover, and prey on young film students who will put up with their abuse just for a chance for an offer that never comes. I don’t even think they posted the peanut butter video on their feed because the brand was so offended, for obvious reasons. I’ve now met plenty of other PAs who have gone through the same experience there that I have. Its a paid gig, but be warned
