Pros

I worked at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando in the F&B department. It was a great environment to work in with friendly and fun coworkers. The experience polished my professionalism and has been a great tool in getting future interviews and jobs. There are plenty of opportunities to move up or move around if you prove you have the right attitude and work ethic (because I was so eager to learn I was cross-trained for 9 different positions in less than a year!)

Cons

This is a luxury boutique hotel chain that caters to a high-profile clientele. There are strict rules and processes for our everyday routines that are set in place by Kessler and their partner Marriott. If you aren't one for following rules or holding yourself to high standards, than this isn't the place for you. Also, working in F&B your schedule will always be unpredictable.

Pros

Serving as General Manager at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook has been an incredibly fulfilling chapter in my career. Over the past year, I’ve experienced a remarkable balance between professional growth and personal well-being. I’m proud to lead a team that’s not only talented but genuinely collaborative and inspiring. The unwavering support from our corporate leadership has empowered us to elevate the guest experience and strengthen our culture. It’s been a journey defined by purpose, passion, and progress.

Cons

Some modification to benefits on the medical side would be good. Otherwise very happy.

Pros

Similarly very diverse seemingly wonderful culture

Cons

I was hired at almost 2 dollars less than the people that were hired a week before and a week after me. Evem with 5 plus years in hospitality. Within 3 days I was degraded in front of a guest. So bad that they wrote about their experience. Nothing was done. After a meeting with H. R the person who actually did the degradation try to retaliate against me. And said that I threatened and made them feel unsafe.. you can try to pull the anger man card. So after checking cameras and doing their investigation, I'm still employed. I still work with this person. I don't feel safe because this person has lied on my name. Once and I'm sure we'll do it again. How is this allowed to happen with HR? And all the established rules and regulations
