Pros

Flexible. You can always negotiate your hours with the administration team after getting hired. If you've personal appointments, they'll try their best to adjust your shift to accommodate your schedule as long as you let them know in advance. Work from home so no need to commute to a workplace. Not super long working hours (min. 30 hrs per week). Occasional pay rises given if your language has a high call volume or if the pay rises application submitted by Admin team is approved by somebody (maybe relevant payroll department).

Cons

Chaotic arrangement. They didn't let you know that you need to turn on Airplane mode in your phone when working. This means you need buy another phone for work. What's worse is they wouldn't pay the phone for you when you buy it for work so you need to pay it out of your pocket. The same for headset for work. They won't pay you for that & you need to buy it yourself. There isn't a phone number you can call to reach Admin team. They only provide you with an email address. Therefore, if you've questions about calculations of statutory/holiday pay/hours, you can't call somebody to ask them. Instead,it wastes a lot of time to call centralized Payroll Support hotline, only to find that they couldn't answer your questions & open a case for you. Later, they would just refer the case back to the Admin team & Canadian Payroll. Then Admin team can't answer the questions after Payroll gave them super brief reply. It would be much easier that an employee can speak to the Payroll department directly to clarify the questions. That would save a lot of time for all parties involved. When you have internet connection issues in the app, those hours of troubleshooting aren't counted in payroll calculations, while you're also working to resolve the issue. No clear guidelines & rules as to what to follow & do when troubleshooting & reporting technical issues unless you reach out to Talent Advisor. Phone number to reach Interpreter Help Desk (IHD) is difficult to find & often you need to post in Forum or ask the Talent Advisor to provide it to you. Low & uncompetitive pay & you need to contact Admin team yourself to do performance reviews for a pay rise every 3-6 months. They won't do it automatically for you & you need to fight for it. Inconsistent tech requirements in documents between Kelly Services & its client Language Line Solutions (LLS). When Kelly tells you that you need a phone with Android OS version 7.0 or above (if you use Android phone) & when tech/audio issues occur & you contact LLS IHD for help, LLS agent & its IT support would sometimes tell you that you need Android OS version 12.0 or above. If you don't pay for the phone for work & ask employee to buy the phone himself (& based on colleagues' recommendations, would normally buy a second-hand older phone as it's cheaper), how can such a huge discrepancy exist between OS requirements? No important benefits (e.g. dental, health,medical) whatsoever except some employee discounts when buying stuff from certain merchants, as you're employed on a contract (though you're nominally employed full-time).

Pros

Virtual, work from home position. The pay was great, the hours were great, they work with you and are very flexible, can always pick up shifts if you have under 40 hours, (you're scheduled 40 hours but if you miss a day that week) you can pick up another shift from the board

Cons

There aren't any cons that I can think of at this time.
