Pros

Can't beat that time off - 25 days of PTO with 11 paid holidays to get out of the office. Sometimes they'll even let you use it!

Cons

It's just another one of those farms that grinds recent grads to the bone and replaces them with the next batch. Placement is based on favoritism versus actual aptitude or skill. Staff is seen as an expendable resource, rather than an asset to be developed

Pros

As someone in communications, this job was a dream for variety and hands-on experience. I got to work across multiple trade associations and industries, which meant every day was different—and never boring. Sitting at board meetings with Fortune 500 reps was an incredible opportunity to see how big decisions happen and make real connections. The work pushed me creatively and strategically, and I loved getting to collaborate with smart, passionate people while learning the ins and outs of so many different sectors.

Cons

One downside is that promotions didn’t always match talent or creativity. Some of the most skilled, innovative, or outspoken team members didn’t necessarily move up as quickly, while people who played it safe and fit a more “vanilla” mold tended to get promoted faster. It could be a bit frustrating at times, but if you’re motivated by the work itself and the experience you gain, there’s still a lot to learn and accomplish.
