Pros

Margaret talks a lot about sales and strategies, so you will learn a lot.

Cons

I worked with Margaret long enough ago that she probably doesn't remember me, but stands out as one of the most horrible employment experiences of my career. Margaret is very knowledgable in her industry, and will start you out with the basics you need for your role, but become very impatient with you if you have questions or don't know how to handle something she didn't prepare you for. She would drill something into you as important, change course abruptly, and meet your questions with sarcasm. She has always wanted to be a speaker and trainer, very focused on fame and glory. She talks a good game about keeping her word and accountability, but only when it makes her look good and it suits her. Otherwise she will twist situations so it's your fault. It was not uncommon for employees to leave for lunch and then just not come back; turnover was remarkable. I will never forget when she told me that, since it's standard in the business world for people to take lunch from 11-12 or 12-1, if I didn't manage to take a lunch break between those hours, *I wouldn't get one.* And I'd get the stink-eye for not manning the phones if someone else was out on lunch, so I often didn't get a lunch break. Sometimes she would ostantatiously work on the floor instead of in her office, loudly telling people on the phone things she wanted you to know. Ie, I told her how I was leaving, how unhappy I was there, how my partner had noticed I was stressed and unhappy. Sure enough, that day, she made sure I overheard her telling a candidate, "Oh, men are the WORST, they will NEVER support your CAREER." She told me I had a "cute little figure" and that I "should wear clothes that show off my body." She started a diet and told the entire office she wanted us all to go on the diet with her and hold each other accountable for it. While people do change, and sometimes people learn things that make them more effective in the workplace, Margaret's challenges are characterological. All her trainings, workshops, and books willl not touch her grandiosity, lack of accountability, poor self-awareness, and dismal emotional regulation. If she ever sees this review, it is very likely she'll spin it as one of her Enlightened Margaret stories, about how this feedback just illuminated to her that she was clearly Out of Alignment With Herself because the Industry Was Broken, and now that she's In Alignment, she can bestow her pearls of wisdom on others. I have no doubt she is happiest when she is the center of attention, facilitating "a ha" moments for others, because she prefers to look like the smartest person in the room unless she's telling one of her Humility Stories or giving credit to someone she was smart enough to discover.
