Pros

Kaufman Hall has been growing fairly rapidly over the last few years as have most healthcare consulting firms. They don't do time based billing so there are no time sheets to fill out. Compensation is on the low side of competitive and fairly heavily bonus dependent. Of course, with the lack of time sheets - there is no way to know what your bonus was based on.

Cons

Work life balance is practically non-existent. You will be expected to work at least 60 hours per week - sometimes more. There is a real lack of vision for the company. They can't decide whether they are financial advisors, consultants or an IT company. There is a large core of Kaufman Hall employees who have been here for 20 plus years and they seem to get preferential treatment. Anyone who has been there less than five years gets treated as an outsider. Compensation is on the low side of competitive - there are many other consulting firms that pay much more. Also, there doesn't seem to be much consistency in pay be level of employee. It seems to depend on what you were able to negotiate coming in. Given the grinding work schedule, relatively low pay and lack of any other sort of perks it is pretty hard to recommend this as a place to work.
