It is a wonderful place to work if you care for animals and want others around you who do as well. Because of the line of work, everyone is typically very understanding and thoughtful. It is also a very LGBTQ and neurodivergent-friendly workplace as well, which I loved!

It is a nonprofit, so the pay isn't great. If it weren't such a great place to work, I probably would have found a different job that pays better.

Great workplace culture, some of the kindest and most passionate people you will meet. Working with animals and seeing their journeys can be a magical experience. You'll grow as a person and learn a lot. The company provides great benefits.

Stressful, outcomes are often bleak, and pay is just enough to get by. They're working within the means afforded to them though. Hours can be long, techs are often the last out the door. Be mindful of what you say, learn what others think and what values they hold - animal welfare attracts people of a variety of "opinions", despite their common interest.
