Pros

The majority of the staff is filled with good people. There’s also interesting clients to work on and opportunities to attend cool events.

Cons

The problems start with owner/President/CEO who really only cares about lining his own pockets and has no regard for his employees or their well-being. He makes questionable remarks and comments that are outright rude and won’t hesitate to humiliate employees in front of the entire staff on a regular basis. The rest of management is absolutely underqualified and resorts to micromanagement due to lack of competence. They often resort to gaslighting, fear, and intimidation tactics to get their way. There is no organization, direction or structure to most operations that go down here. New hires are thrown in the deep end from the start with little to no direction and sometimes struggle to get familiarized. Your mood for the day will depend on both your manager’s mood and the boss’s mood which, in most cases, are sour. For a PR agency, no one at the management level can handle stress properly without taking it out on a junior level employee. Management didn’t hide their feeling towards the COVID-19 outbreak initially and have handled the situation poorly overall doing the bare minimum and making decisions only based on their comfort and safety over the staffs.

We're disappointed to hear about your experience working for Kahn Media. We pride ourselves on being a family run business with an entrepreneurial spirit that empowers employees to rise based on their own work ethic, drive and sense of self motivation. Our entire management team is not only diverse, every person started at the entry level and worked their way up, and about half the staff has been with us for more than five years. Like all agencies, especially small agencies, we wear many hats and have to learn as we climb. Those that can do that, flourish. Unfortunately... this type of environment does not always work with all types of employees. People who struggle to think on their feet, people who lack internal motivation and those that need large amounts of hand holding often do not work out long term. Those that are able to adapt and learn on their feet flourish and typically rise quickly into higher paid positions in management. We take great pride in offering not only competitive salaries but extremely generous benefit programs. We also have one of the most fruitful incentive based commission programs in the industry and those with the drive to pursue new business can earn significant increases to their already competitive pay. Employees who do not share this passion and drive and only wish to work the minimum hours required do not need to apply for a position with us. Regarding the pandemic, we have adhered to state and county guidelines since day one of the pandemic, and have had employees working from home since March, while those who do visit the office are held to all county guidelines. We are proud of maintaining a zero infection rate and will continue to maintain those standards. As always for the past 12 years, we encourage an open, honest dialogue with current and past employees.

Pros

Decent intro to the world of automotive

Cons

I’m leaving this review in hopes that any fresh graduate or applicant desperate for work sees this and saves themself the pain of applying here. I would implore you to read through the reviews that people have been leaving here (especially recently) and ask yourself why so many people would be saying the same things if they weren’t true. I would also implore you to read through KM’s responses to these negative reviews and notice how they deflect, negate, and contradict every concern raised with what essentially amounts to: “no we’re not.” A company that truly values its employees does not respond to serious, recurring concerns that way. I promise you — this is not what most corporate jobs are like. Keep looking. This isn’t written out of bitterness as I left on good terms for a much better opportunity but I feel as if I would be doing others like me a disservice if I didn’t try and warn them to keep their eyes open. The version of this company you’ll see in the interview process is not the version you’ll encounter once you’re inside.

Transparency is something we take seriously here, so let us be transparent. This reviewer takes issue with how we've responded to negative reviews, suggesting our replies are dismissive. What they're interpreting as deflection is actually something different, it's us refusing to validate claims that aren't true. There's an important distinction there, and we stand by it. We also want to be honest about something most people reading these reviews wouldn't know: the number of negative reviews posted about Kahn Media in recent months does not align with our actual separation history over the past four years. We are a small, close-knit agency and the volume and pattern of what has been posted is not consistent with independent, genuine first-hand accounts. We have reported this to Glassdoor's legal team because we believe it represents a coordinated effort by one or a small number of individuals posting false information in direct violation of Glassdoor's Terms of Service. What we can tell you about the actual culture here: we have people who have been with Kahn Media for three, five, and more than ten years. In an industry known for high turnover, that's not accidental. It's the result of a workplace where leadership genuinely listens, where the door is always open, and where people feel included in the work and the growth of this agency. That environment doesn't happen by accident and it doesn't survive for two decades without being real. To anyone genuinely considering a career here, we'd encourage you to look beyond this review thread and speak with people who have worked with us. Their experience will tell you more than any anonymous post.
