The shareholders take time to mentor and nuture newer attorneys, and provide opportunities for associates to stretch and develop their practices. The support staff is very professional, and upper management is transparent about the firm's economics and pathways to advancement.
Cons
There is some lip service about work life balance. The reality is that the firm expects people to work hard and a lot, so it's not a great fit for someone looking for a straight 9-5 job. Also, the pay is slightly lower than market, though they have acknowledged that fact and have been raising pay consistently over the last few years to try to catch up.
