Working environment is toxic. Culture is extremely hierarchical. Bullying from lateral level peers is allowed, upper/sr. mgmt will dismiss clear signs of bullying as "personality difference". Upper mgmt is complicit in the toxic work environment within department, and are more likely to turn blind eye or even address the bullying until HR gets involved, at which point its too late. Gossip and overall lack of respect/consideration is the norm. High performers / colleagues who have longer tenure are allowed a pass for bad behavior and poor treatment of others.
