Pros

Nice facilities. Used to be a great environment, but they have pushed growth for the sake of business and in doing so, they have stretched their employees (BCBAs and RBTs alike) far too thin, quality of therapy has significant decreased.

Cons

Non-competitive pay Poor management Expect extra time to be spent on work tasks outside of the business hours for both hourly and salary employees. Major scheduling problems, are constantly short staffed and requiring BCBAs to do direct therapy. They have even utilized Speech, OT and PT to complete ABA sessions at times. Management comes across very condescending. Overall, their biggest issue is that they have pushed for growth and continued to add on clients, while ignoring the fact that they are short staffed, quality of therapy continues to decrease and their employees are burnt out, underpayed and under appreciated. Micro-management of the BCBAs, very little autonomy for BCBAs. Lack of transparency between the staff and upper management, creating a tense work environment. Keep sick kids at the clinic.

K1ds Count Therapy Response

Thank you for your highlighting our facilities and the positive aspects of our culture. ***For therapists and others interested in K1ds Count Therapy, please review my response to gain more insight into our culture and employee experience!!!*** Non-competitive pay ***Our range for RBTs is $17- 22/ hour with health insurance, matching 4% 401k, 10 paid holidays, and up to 15 days of PTO. Poor management ***We lead through positive reinforcement. We do our best to help grow our therapists both personally and professionally. Expect extra time to be spent on work tasks outside of the business hours for both hourly and salary employees. This is false and not implied, expected or required for hourly employees. We also focus on creating work/life harmony so that our salaried team can put their family and personal needs first! Major scheduling problems, are constantly short staffed and requiring BCBAs to do direct therapy. ***Scheduling is challenging. We do our best to put client and employee experience first. When there are call ins, we work through coverage to make sure therapists feel supported. They have even utilized Speech, OT and PT to complete ABA sessions at times. ***Yes!!! We are all 1 at K1ds Count Therapy and rally around our SERVE Together mission! Many of our ST, OT, and PTs have previously been RBTs and joyfully volunteer to work with children in our ABA program. It is a blessing to have a team of STs, OTs, PTs, RBTs, and BCBAs that always put clients first! Having dedicated outpatient therapists is one of the resources that makes KCT unique! Management comes across very condescending. ***I’m sorry you feel this way. We manage and lead through positive reinforcement with a focus on servant leadership. It’s been great to see over 100 RBTs, outpatient therapists, and BCBAs attend our LEAD Together leadership workshops. We’ll continue to focus on and invest into all of our therapists, managers, and directors. Overall, their biggest issue is that they have pushed for growth and continued to add on clients, while ignoring the fact that they are short staffed, quality of therapy continues to decrease and their employees are burnt out, underpayed and under appreciated. ***Our Brownsburg and Crawfordsville programs did not add more than a few clients over the past year. We slowly opened and grew our Zionsville location. We’ve been transparent with this across our clinics and explained the “why”. We have not and do not focus on growth. We focus on going deeper for our children, parents, and community! This is why we created a mental health program, donated to over 30 local organizations, and continue to partner with community leaders to help train and serve children at other locations. There is always room for improvement in leadership and culture. Both are fluid and ever changing. We will continue to focus on creating the best possible employment experience for RBTs and BCBAs!!! See above for compensation reply. RBTs earn between $17-$22/ hr and BCBAs between $60-75k.. Both are competitive and in the above average range when considering the PTO, paid holidays, benefits, etc. Micro-management of the BCBAs, very little autonomy for BCBAs. ***Our BCBAs have full autonomy to implement programing, targets, and other clinical measures as they see fit. Our BCBAs enjoy low caseloads (6-7 clients, regardless if part or full time client hours), layers of support (BCBA managers and directors), and a collaborative culture with fellow BCBAs, ST, OTs, PTs, and mental health providers. BCBAs also have access to work from home time, office hours, and other dedicated time to focus on their clinical documentation, reports, etc so that when they are on the floor, they can focus on the children and collaborating with our RBTs! Lack of transparency between the staff and upper management, creating a tense work environment. ***Our turnover rates continue to be 20-25% below the industry average. We put employee experience at the top of our priority list and work hard to ensure our therapists feel valued, appreciated, and heard. Therapists are able to snap a pic of a QR code and provide anonymous or personalized feedback and suggestions. We love receiving feedback and implementing meaningful change! Keep sick kids at the clinic. *** This is false! We work closely with therapists and parents to maintain a clean and healthy treatment environment! We continue to follow our sick policy and communicate with parents to ensure children are receiving the appropriate care. Additional response to "Advice to Management" to follow :)

Pros

Helping the children and seeing a difference

Cons

This is literally the worst place to work if you’re a minority. The higher ups make the workplace hostile and they say they care about their staff but definitely don’t. I have seen them let staff belittle or put hands on kids and when told to the hire ups nothing was done. I was told “they didn’t mean it” even when things were caught on camera and you could clearly see the aggression towards the kids. This company cares solely about money. You do get the occasional therapist who actually care about their clients but a lot of them are burnt out, disrespected, undervalued, or have left. They give praise to people who do nothing for the clients except be a lighter skin complexion and those are the ones that get promoted. Everyone in a higher up position may seem nice and like they want to make a difference but most of them will not which is why the turn over rate is so high. The high turn over rate creates inconsistency for client which doesn’t help them progress in therapy. The therapist get hired just to leave weeks later because they hire people so that way they can accumulate more revenue rather than hire quality therapist. Kids having multiple therapist everyday and having inconsistent therapy causes more bad than good when it comes to therapy. They well put untrained staff on the floor to fend for themselves and take trained people off kids to put new people who are not trained properly. They overwork their staff and treat them horrible so please if you are a person of color be weary about this clinic. They also give incentives for good reviews so don’t believe everything you read about them.
