Pros

Free lunch Tuesday and Wednesdays?!

Cons

Leadership is completely disorganized and micromanagers. They tried to roll out quarterly planning and it was a joke as they never stuck to it and kept piling on competing projects with extremely unrealistic timelines. The culture is toxic with everyone being openly unhappy with high turnover and layoffs. It’s common for the company to hire for the moment and then let people go because they didn’t have the foresight to hire the right people for future goals and objectives that are constantly changing. People bite their tongues in meetings because they don’t want to be singled out and most people just do as they are told because leadership doesn’t want to hear their opinion nor do they have a problem making you pivot multiple times. The average tenure is a year which should have been a red flag for me. If you respect yourself I would look elsewhere. Many people come in eager to make a change or add value and quickly find themselves defeated, which is a shame because there are talented employees. The mission is admirable but the leaders will be the demise of the company.  Here are some facts: they offer 401k but don’t match if you exceed certain salary (I think 140k). They just announced mandatory days (3) and hours (9-6) in the office in the office. They’ve delayed promotions for over a year and it’s not common to get promotions. They don’t invest in their employees growth nor do they groom their people managers for success. For a company that is trying to help others they do nothing for their employees. It’s not uncommon for the ceo or cofounder to attend meetings that most vp levels in my opinion wouldn’t attend at other companies. It’s also not uncommon for the ceo to talk for 50 minutes uninterrupted in a day to day meeting about nothing. The man likes to hear the sound of his own voice and can’t keep a coherent thought. Furthermore, the CEO will comment if he doesn’t see you in the office during mandatory days or when people don’t work past 5. There are a couple smart leaders SVP of product and CTO, but they are poorly led by the CEO and CPO, which ultimately drag down the value of the first two. If you want to be the band playing music on the titanic as it sinks join this company.

Pros

Fellow CC's are genuinely trying their best. Middle management seems to support lateral movement because upward mobility simply doesn't exist. Flexible WFH schedule if you're in the good graces of said management. I agree with the mission statement of providing access to care (but the way they CEO centers AI in every conversation, you would never know that). It's a stable paycheck and decent health benefits in a crumbling economy (but be sure to review your paychecks carefully!).

Cons

Disgustingly low pay for exhausting work that requires expertise in various OS, insurance, tech support, patient advocacy, and multiple hospital systems on top of soul-sucking customer service. And that's to say nothing of the literal tripling of the workload thanks to recent restructuring. This company excuses incompetent leadership by claiming to be a "startup" despite being established for over a decade, and upper management shuts down any discussion of pay raises despite funneling money into frivolity to keep up appearances. There are also glaring pay discrepancies between CCs for no discernible rhyme or reason (and no merit/experience-based raises that I've heard of). Monthly meetings that we should be having with managers and team leads are trimonthly at best, so it's impossible to get genuine support. I have some serious security and HIPAA compliance concerns, but I think discussing that might fall under "trade secrets" so I'll leave it at that. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this sinking ship.
