Pros

Great discount on product and services. That's about it.

Cons

Ridiculously expensive health insurance with high copays. Zero work/life balance due to scheduling. No PTO until after you've worked there a full year so if you want to plan a trip and gave to take time off, you're out money. Front desk staff hands down THE cattiest and meanest group of girls/women I have ever worked with. They gossip about EVERYONE: guests (often when the guest is standing nearby), other employees, management, even each other. Things were said that were absolutely cruel and borderline harassment. Terrible group of people who do not represent the Juut philosophy that's written on the entire wall of the salon! Management does nothing to stop this behavior. I didn't feel comfortable at all expressing my concerns as I was afraid I would be penalized. The idea of an open door policy is nonexistent. HR never followe up. Honestly that place is an eventual lawsuit waiting to happen. Not much room for growth beyond becoming an assistant manager or salon manager. Hourly pay is laughable considering what a money maker the company is.

Juut Response

We are sorry that this was your experience and wish that you would have spoken to us when you were with JUUT; we are grateful that you have spoken now. We are continually working to make sure we are representative of our mission and values that are integral to who we are as a company and we would like to address a few of your concerns. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, racism or the like. If there are concerns, we encourage staff members to connect with management and/or our internal & external HR experts for resolution. At JUUT we have some of the lowest premiums in the salon industry. As healthcare costs have risen, JUUT has absorbed these increases rather than passing the increased costs to employees, keeping staff members’ premiums stable. At JUUT, we are passionate about health care coverage and do this so that it remains as affordable as possible to our staff members. For any JUUT employee who works 30+ hours per week, PTO is accrued from day one. We are proud to offer this benefit because it is a rarity in the industry. Our core values of creativity, love and passion are what drives all our actions. Our goal is to share these with open hearts with every guest and team member that is at JUUT. We work at this every day to make it our reality.

Pros

In the past 2 years I can’t think of much except: Discounts and 85% of my co workers were amazing.

Cons

*This is speaking from a front of house employee who was at this company for over a decade. This place has gone downhill over the past 2 years. They call themselves “Daymakers” but are they really? When I started 10 years ago there was a professional standard set, there was structure, it wasn’t a toxic hostile work environment that I had endured the last 6 months of my time there. That all has fallen by the wayside. I expect a “high end salon” to act like a high end salon. They pride themselves on favoritism over professionalism and loyalty. If you work here you will be rewarded for doing the bare minimum. You can hide downstairs for hours during the holidays rush while loyal hardworking employees pick up the slack, you can make tik toks in the middle of checking out guests, you really don’t even need to check out guests, you can casually have your unprofessional conversations in front of them. while yet again your hardworking employees do it all, you don’t even have to lift a finger.. you just have to be over whelmingly fake to be successful here. If you do not fit the JUUT mold anymore, you will be miserable until they bully you out or retaliate against you. Management/ upper management are very much a bunch of hypocrites. Someone will get “talked to” about behaviors while other employees who do the same things (or even the managers themselves) get away with it. There is no structure. At some point you do not receive anymore raises due to be capped out. I was stuck making the same amount for the last 3 years but was expected to do more. Heed my warning and all the other low rated reviews of this place, it’s fine until it’s not fine anymore, it’s not worth your putting your mental health at risk. I have a ton to say about working here, but I know Glassdoor would never approve it
