Pros
Other department’s coworkers are great to work with and are great communicators.
PTO is great and you’re going to need it.
The work is not hard, but the micromanaging made it hard to work with.
Cons
Great start up feel, unfortunately in a couple of weeks noticed signs of micromanaging.
They oversold the position to require some experience with microbiology and brewery and that it’s super challenging for x,y, x reasons, therefore compensation was not equal to what you’re worth.
They also oversold the work environment, which may be true for the company, but the Quality Control department seemed to have experienced a series of high turnover rates/layoffs previously before I joined, which influenced the atmosphere of this department.
Culture is too cliquey and department is too small, if you don’t fit in, you’re basically out of luck.
The work was not very hard, but the superiors there made it seem like it was. Started off doing well for 5 months, great performance as mentioned in 1 and 1 meetings and there was not a negative comment about my work. As I brought a micromanaging concern to HR, my department retaliated and I somehow immediately got placed in a performance plan. The last 1 month of being there involved A LOT more stress, gaslighting, and micromanaging which ultimately forced me out of my position.
