Pros
Profitable and growing company (the biggest opportunities are in sales.) Well regarded in their industry. 401k match and full medical coverage (minus family leave support or any meaningful wellness benefits)
Cons
Performance reviews are conducted privately within management, and any feedback/growth opportunities are never proactively discussed with the employee. Raises (only available in January, with no bonus structure) will always come as a surprise, and it's unclear how they are calculated. They are non-negotiable, and your own reflection of your accomplishments over the past year are not taken into account. Career growth is minimal and internal support is severely lacking. Management is top-down from the headquarters in Turkey, and is extremely male-dominated. The US team doesn't have much real say in their direction, focuses, or goals, and these can change on a dime with very little explanation or reasoning. Mandatory return to office 5 days a week, with no flexibility. If you have a doctor's appointment in the morning, you are still expected to swipe your badge into the office in the afternoon. Same if you have an early morning meeting with a team in Turkey (take it at home, then head to the office.) If your kid is sick, you are expected to take a sick day, and you cannot work remotely. (Ironically, the only employee who has been given any leeway here is the US recruiter.) PTO is lacking: 2 weeks for the first 2 years, then 3 weeks for the next 3 years.
