Pros

Good hours, good benefits, overtime is voluntary. Hard to get fired because they're so desperate for technicians, company's very safety conscious, just don't let them fool you that it's because they're concerned about your safety. It's 100% about their own liability.

Cons

Too much dead weight in the company. There are some good technicians, but too many bad ones also that aren't bad enough for the company to want to fight the Union on firing that technician. Management does nothing when service coordinator threatens people. Morale is basically non-existent. Only reason 90% of the technicians are there, are due to seniority and Union protection. On the lower end of the pay scale of all the security companies in the area. Upper management in corporate likes to micromanage on-site times/etc. Union does nothing other than negotiate a new contract every few years. Constant payroll issues, and they take forever to fix them. So you could be on a regular basis, missing thousands of dollars and they don't resolve it quickly ever. Took over 3 weeks to get my final week of pay, paid out properly. And over a month to get my vacation payout. They also say constantly that they like to promote from within. That's a lie. They do have long-term disability coverage, but is so poorly ran also, that nobody can fix anything in a timely manner. When again you're sitting without a paycheck for weeks or even months at a time because there are too inept to fix anything in a timely manner.

Pros

Excellent office culture...we have each other's back and everyone is there for each other on the quest to provide the best customer experience. We bring a, "whatever it takes" mentality to our workday. Best part of our job is our work family.

Cons

High pressure industry that must be managed daily. We save lives! That brings a heavy responsibility to what we do and means we must remain focused at all times.

Pros

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Cons

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
