Not bad - Service Coordinator Johnson Controls Employee Review

Pros

The people are down to earth. Nowhere does it feel like you’re surrounded by executives or anyone out of touch. There’s a limited amount of micromanaging. Sure, there’s a bit of it, but overrall you’re trusted as a grown adult to get your work done and ask for help if you need it.

Cons

Support takes too much time. You have to constantly “prove” you need more staff, all the while your team is drowning. It goes over your manager, to your manager’s manager, to THEIR manager, who takes months to agree to anything. Progression feels like a distant dream if it isn’t within your own team or same sector of the company. I want to progress to the engineering field via apprenticeship, but nobody is making it clear on how I do that, or are reluctant to support me in doing so. The only plan of action I have is through informal conversations and hopes and prayers that people keep their word.

Pros

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Cons

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
