Pros

My experience at Johnson Chou Inc. has been nothing but positive. In the past 2 years I have learnt more about the interior design Industry than at any other job. It is fast paced at times and hectic but people are here to help. Both Johnson and Silke are very open about concerns employees might have and willing to listen. I have been able to experience a lot of different phases of large scale projects due to the controlled supervision and guidance I have received.

Cons

We need HR 9-6 and that is being worked on

Pros

- Lots of opportunities to learn directly from the Principal - Co-workers were nice - The work was interesting and you can actually contribute to the firm - Flexible with hours within reason - Learn new programs Johnson was an amazing Principal and teacher. He is very knowledgeable on many aspects of architecture, and he is always willing to teach new things. The overall experience was great as the office was welcoming and the work was interesting. I would definitely recommend working here, especially if you want to learn more about different aspects of the industry,

Cons

- During slow season there may not be much work - Depending on the time, may be stuck doing one thing such as only rendering or only CAD Unfortunately, since I was only there for 4 months, I was mainly on 3D model making and rendering (which luckily I wanted to learn more about). It depends on the timing.

Pros

I have worked for Johnson Chou Inc on more than one occasion. I've come back to this company as they are an ethical, innovative and creative group. The owner is a spectacular Architect with knowledge of every single aspect of design and building. He is hard working and a great inspiration and mentor to his team. The hours are normal for the industry yet provide flexibility when needed. The salary is fair and advancement is possible even encouraged by being driven, a self-starter and excited about the work. Projects are innovative, diverse, and all award worthy.

Cons

As a boutique firm, there's a lot of room for creativity and being attentive to details. This will sometime create more pressure on deadlines because there are more changes that can happen. I know that the company is always looking for talented people with a progressive and professional standard to increase smooth productivity.
