Pros

I have worked in the creative field for more than 20 years, and the demands placed on me at this office are no different than I have experienced in other places. I have been granted flexibility in this job that I couldn't find in another professional position. There are no issues with management when requesting time off for appointments, or being able to work from home when kids are sick. Fair treatment from management and ownership, as well as respect for new ideas and forward thinking. The individual matters. Birthdays are celebrated, spiffs and bonuses are given frequently for hard work/results, and ownership is very generous with frequent paid lunches, paid time off, special occasions and more. Ideas are welcomed, and management is willing to listen to whatever is presented to them to improve the company. Software is current and up-to-date (Adobe CC). Hardware functions well (PC based), and was custom-built for our department. Recommendations are taken into consideration for new processes and software needed for the department. Not all recommendations are implemented by the owners, but it is always welcomed and listened to. Creative freedom within the bounds of what we are producing is a plus, but I would recommend having a good freelance life on the side to help with creative needs.

Cons

If you need healthcare benefits, they are not offered here.

Pros

There is an opportunity to make a lot of money in sales while having a great time. You work only 35 hours per week, and top reps make more than $150,000! Our reps stay because they make great money and because they enjoy the work – most have been here between 1 and 14 years. JobSparx has been in business since 1997, and our salespeople have made JobSparx the largest employment publication and website in the Houston metro!

Cons

Every time a new sales person starts, the whole team is so excited and hopeful that that person will be a huge success. Unfortunately, there have been a few people who were stubbornly unable to learn new selling techniques because of their previous experience. Those people are probably excellent at other jobs and should more than likely be selling something else. Although successful salespeople make between $33 & $109 per hour, people who are not selling have to rely on the base salary.
