Pros

- Healthy work place environment - Staff are friendly and kind - People we support really are amazing individuals and seeing them succeed is extremely rewarding - Good PTO policy

Cons

- Extremely underpaid and not a livable wage especially for NYC - Not a great work/life balance - Usually short staffed so expect to be overworked - Burnout happens quick which leads to turnover - Higher ups like to ignore our reasons for burnout and don't do anything to help - Very stagnant and not much room for growth - Departments are extremely isolated from one another and staff don't know who each other are or what the departments do HR needs restructuring. The head of the department displays unprofessional behavior that negatively impacts staff morale and the work environment. She reacts defensively to suggestions or opinions that differ from her own, often entering meetings with an attitude and taking out her frustrations on the staff. Her sarcastic and petty demeanor is not conducive to a supportive Human Resources environment. Many staff members have expressed their discomfort in approaching her, as she often appears disinterested and dismissive during conversations about their concerns. This behavior creates a sense of isolation among employees who feel they cannot rely on HR for support. Her unhelpful and unapproachable nature has even led some staff to leave the company. Administration should investigate why staff prefer to have the other HR representative conduct their exit interviews, as this is a clear indicator that she is more of a problem than a solution.
