Great Product, Too Much Favoritism - Sales Representative Jim Shorkey Auto Group Employee Review

Pros

There are good people within the organization, and the automotive industry itself can provide strong earning potential for motivated employees. The customer traffic, product lineup, and overall opportunity to build a career are there when the environment is operating correctly. The experience also helped build resilience, product knowledge, and customer relationship skills.

Cons

• A culture of nepotism and favoritism created the perception that opportunities, advancement, and deal flow were not always tied to performance or experience. • Over-hiring on the sales floor created excessive internal competition, leaving too many employees competing for limited opportunities. • Ongoing inventory shortages hurt both employees and management alike, making it difficult to maintain consistent income, customer satisfaction, and overall store performance. • Over time, the environment became increasingly clique-driven rather than team-oriented, which negatively affected morale, professionalism, and retention.

Pros

The people here the great. The team outside of all of the higher ups are fantastic. They've found some great people in GA specificallty to have to spend all day with.

Cons

Can't trust anything anyone in management or above says. Your job is never safe. Your money is never safe. I've seen them cut pay rates for every department, yet treat managers with legal issues as gold children. I have seen many people get their unemployment appealed after they lost their jobs. This company was a great place to be at some point, but it's 100% tanked and isn't doing anything but making a terrible name for themselves with employees current and past. "Love the team, Love the customer," means nothing when you stand in the way of whatever their greater vision is. Employees are expendable.
