Pros

nothing but stress and unorganised mess

Cons

Unachivable targets Constant visits resulting in only bad feedback and never fully acknowledging the employees . Not even water available for staff and a tiny chair with a work desk expected to be a back of house . Area managers watching the cctv constantly and invading every single inch of privacy when In store visiting . “Piercing course” is a joke and is not actually a license considering it’s done with a needle , lots of customers fainting and even resulting in seizures which never was taught within the training . The company also has no hr, which is a massive red flag . Any concerns and worries were never solved or raised by anyone . Very low pay for a place selling over priced jewellery and constant complains from customers with piercings going wrong . Expected to trade alone and do 50 things at the same time .

Pros

Break and lunch time .

Cons

Where do i start? This company has multiple flaws, quick to play the blame game, a few of my great colleagues have left due to the toxic environment and “culture. I knew it was my queue to go when i saw 3 people leave in one month despite not having a job lined up. Employee turnover is an ABSOLUTE joke. I mean everyone looks like they’ve got LinkedIn on their tab in incognito mode ready to jump to their next role. Maybe a role that shows respect and honours hard work or possibly just a place that actually has a HR? Also you might have to work through your break because there’s no structure or time management, everyone just expects you to be a robot, you are never praised. There’s no time to take a break and if you do want to take a break? Oh wait there’s 30 things more to do but the company can only decide to hire 1 staff member for a workload of 10. This company is hanging by a thread, the only thing that keeps them alive is the investment otherwise they’re going to have to follow the footsteps of Claire’s. Also don’t understand how the CEO was given this investment despite having 3 failed businesses? If you are a young person who wants experience in the retail fashion industry, RUN! You may as well just accept that you also have 5 different job titles even if you pretty much signed up for 1, that doesn’t exist here. You are a jack of all trades and a quick reminder that you will also not be praised for any of them and not even your allocated job title.

Pros

The people at the time who were smart like me and got out.

Cons

Read the very first review on glassdoor for Jewells and it's 100% correct. My mental health severely declined working for this company with SO many promises made that fell through or fell short. I understood it was a brand new business but it felt mismanaged, no one ever knew what was going on, LACK of communication was severe, constant VM/building updates (yes quite literally pulling walls apart/drilling) occuring during opening times which scared off the customers and caused confusion as to what our brand actually was/represented and don't even get me started on the "training" provided to us to pierce peoples ears. I was told to suck it up and go stick needles in peoples ears/noses/bellys NEVER having done any piercing training on anything but lobes. (I got to pierce two lobes and was told i was good to go) I hope its getting better for the team who is are still there's sake but my gosh is my mental health back to normal after leaving such a disorganised mess. Oh and PS: if you are intraverted, don't look like Molly Mae or don't have an OUT there personality with jazz hands and a fake smile on ur face everyday, you won't get far, even if ur damn good at ur job (top salesperson for instance) Thank gosh i got out when i did...
