Pros

Resume building experience for when you go somewhere that actually values your intelligence / contributions to the firm's overall success

Cons

Compensation is a joke - sweaty work environment & tireless hours makes your pay more similar to that of a food service professional at McDonald's. Sexist, homophobic, and racist senior bankers make up the majority of management and regardless of how many cases HR gets they won't do a singular thing. Firm is all about virtue signaling. If you're an aspiring politician Jefferies is for you. If you don't get the right people to like you in the first 3 months for whatever arbitrary reason they've assigned like maybe a rich, influential parent or a stereotypical profile consider your deal flow and bonus bucket to be a bust. You'll spend most of your time baking off for subpar deals.

Pros

Supportive firm-wide culture; competitive pay; surrounded by some of the smartest people you'll ever meet.

Cons

Like most banking jobs, incredibly long hours. Group specific: culture can be poor / not well supported, poor organization / staffing at group level.
