Pros

- Salary was reasonable - Remote work

Cons

- I was "managed" out of the business without due process. I was offered to resign or to have "more difficult conversations". - At the time of my exit, there wasn't a HR function- I had no one to speak with other than direct manager. - Internal politics determine whether you thrive here. - Job objectives are unclear and chaotic. Be prepared to do anything SLT ask of you regardless of whether it distracts from your objectives. - Unclear processes and reactive work atmosphere. - Be wary of Jadu's people policy's and reputation- From my personal experience, these are for show. - CEO fosters "clique" work culture- SLT are in constant battle for his favour and influence- creates chaos down the ranks. - Respect for customers significantly outweighs respect for staff

Jadu Response

I’m genuinely sorry to hear that your time at Jadu didn’t reflect the experience we want everyone to have. Every person’s journey matters to me and to our wider team, and I take all feedback seriously... even when it’s difficult to read. What makes Jadu special, and something I’m very proud of, is our culture of transparency, openness, kindness and respect. As a company with 25 years of organic growth and now an employee-owned business, everyone has a voice. We hold ourselves and each other accountable, not just for performance, quality and service, but for living our values every day. Its important that each one of us upholds and lives our values. Many of our current and former colleagues describe Jadu as a place where people are supported, listened to and trusted to do their best work. That’s reflected in our 4.5-star rating and the fact that ~90% of our team who have posted here would recommend Jadu to a friend. Change can be challenging, but we always strive to handle it with care, fairness and transparency. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who helps make Jadu what it is today... passionate, human and constantly learning and innovating. I wish you every success in your future career, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. Suraj

Pros

- Employees are trusted to be fully autonomous - Innovative workplace - Company is not afraid to implement and try new things - Flexible work from home options - Company invests in good equipment (Apple) for their employees - Ongoing R&D and Innovation with products - Jadu uses the best, most current software for internal project management, collaboration, communication and content. Never afraid to try a new tool that might make work easier, better, more productive. - Great company culture! Jadu is a growing company truly developing products and solutions based on customer feedback and needs. This means that things move at a rapid pace and you should never feel like you've been doing the same thing for long periods of time. Some new product announcements and features to existing products have led to some great solutions for customers. A lot of time, resources and attention have been put into R&D over the recent couple of years and there are many opportunities for growth at Jadu. If you are early in your career there should be many opportunities for career growth and if you are a seasoned veteran Jadu would benefit from your experience as the next iteration should focus now on execution.

Cons

- I'm sure some would not appreciate the pace of change but others would equally welcome it. - Company is working hard on ensuring the market understands their vision. This can mean that marketing and sales campaigns ask for input and feedback from all departments, including engineering. For the developers in the world who 'just want to write code', you might not appreciate being asked for this input. However, most do appreciate having a voice in the future direction of the company. The executive team would say it is vital to have input and feedback from all areas of the company. Jadu is not a 'large' company. If you are looking for the feel of a large company where departments are siloed and operate within themselves, you would struggle at Jadu where input and feedback from everyone is not only welcomed, but required to get where they are going. Along the same lines, there are not as many defined 'processes' as other more established companies might have but these processes are constantly evaluated and refined to ensure they align with company direction and culture.

Pros

Autonomous working, you’re trusted to do your job! Creativity and AI adoption, everyone is encouraged to utilise AI and be creative! If you have an idea that supports the vision -go with it! Flexible, Jadu respects that you have a life out of work - dentist appointment, doctors, kids need picking up? No problem. Non-hierarchical, teams and individuals are treated equally to encourage collaboration. Remote working, enables you to work from anywhere and means we have a global team. Growth opportunities in the US opens up an exciting aspect for the business. The team! A group of genuinely nice people who all work hard, and support each other.

Cons

Only con would be with moving to a remote business following Covid it can be difficult to bring the whole team together often due to the team located around the world (from Australia, USA, Europe and more)! Appreciate that that’s not an easy thing to accommodate and the fortnightly virtual All Hands (global team meet) are a good opportunity to bring all of our team together to keep us all connected ☺️.
