Pros

I would like to second what has already been said. My coworkers are wonderful, the benefits are great, we get PTO and a day off on our birthday. Jim and LuAnn, the owners, are great people and strive to provide a great atmosphere. LuAnn has gone out of her way to check in and make sure everyone is doing great.

Cons

I would like to second what was previously said by various other reviews. On a side note, a lot of the other reviews look like they are completely biased and not real. Compensation is of concern and has been the reason for many employees seeking employment elsewhere. They are very stingy on raises and do not provide bonuses to their customer service team. I too, second what has been said about the HR representative being incapable of handling HR tasks without taking it personally. Quite often, this representative will blame the victim and once they have you in trouble for one thing, they will go after you until you are fired, yet will not handle more pressing and serious manners in an appropriate way, to the point of favoritism. The HR director herself is great and very professional. She takes time to make sure you're doing ok and checks in on you.

JNR Response

JNR’s benefits do not just end at the hourly rate. JNR offers training, an interactive work environment, competitive benefits and bosses who care about your success. One of the strengths of JNR is the fact that they do listen and make adjustments when needed. We do not share personal pay information but we can honestly say that employees that have been working hard and exceeding expectations are recognized and rewarded with raises, opportunities to attend career seminars and furthering education. If you feel your pay is too low then look elsewhere for another opportunity that meets your financial requirements. We understand that and you do not need to feel bad about making that decision. There are plenty of people who enjoy working at JNR and others who are looking for work. JNR expanded greatly within the last year and took on another office to support this growth. JNR was able to offer over 35 jobs to people. Think about that; 35 people with a steady income, 35 people with benefits, 35 people earning PTO, 35 people that JNR includes in monthly employee appreciation recognition, and so on and so on. Being in HR is a rough job, you are the one to enforce polices, be part of the discipline process, and ultimately, deliver bad news. HR has to get involved when another employee complains that someone is affecting their work. HR has to be the one to communicate to someone that their actions are hurting other people’s feelings or that their performance is below expectations. These are very difficult conversations, however, HR does listen to employee concerns, takes their job seriously, cares for the employees and doesn’t spend time “going after you” if you make a complaint. We don’t want to lose employees who work hard for the company. At JNR we practice progressive discipline and give plenty of coaching and feedback. We do expect employees to take responsibility for their actions and need to follow through on policies. You stated that there is a “disregard for comforts in your environment”, what does this mean? The work environment at JNR is one of the best places to work. Beautiful air conditioned office, competitive games to boost performance and recognize work, daily coffee and tea and special treats at least once a month. The managers in Customer Service have 1:1 feedback and coaching meetings, the management team is involved and the owners take time to meet with each employee to make sure they know everyone. JNR even has an ergonomist specialist visit the office every quarter to make sure everyone’s keyboards, chairs and monitors are correctly fitted. JNR works with employees on their schedules for school and helps employees with succession planning. One reason for all the great reviews is because JNR has maintained positive relationships with past workers because of the way we treat them. What is not handled in a timely manner? If you feel you can’t go to anyone in HR then please schedule a time with LuAnn to voice your concerns. You will be heard and your concerns will be taken much more seriously than an anonymous rant on Glassdoor with no examples. We are sorry that your experience with JNR has not been what you expected.

Pros

some of the clients were fun to work with

Cons

Ownership is terrible. They illegally spy on employees through their work computer. I had someone in IT say they took videos and screenshots of you and shared in private meetings. I should've sued but I did not as I had evidence from the IT person at the time. The pay was pathetic. Unless you're great at being fake and get in with the owners, you're going to hate your life. Also, I watched them cheat and steal from their clients and were not transparent on the cost of certain things with their clients.
