Pros
Brand looks good on CV Good products Benefits are good
Cons
I was attracted to the brand and not the job, that was my big mistake. Your experience of JLR will heavily depend on what department you work in. I found as with all global companies of this size is that there is a lot of internal politics, processes and bureaucracy that will affect the way you do your Job properly. Its quite a corporate company that values hierarchy quite highly, which means the way your are treated depends on the level you're at. Staff can be rude and obnoxious, this is due to the above and being at JLR for too long. The salaries are not as good as people think, JLR expect prospective employees to take a cut because you'll be working for a top branded car manufacturer. My advice is to negotiate the best salary you can before joining, as incremental increases/promotions are hard to get once settled in. If you're an Engineer the likelihood there will be more flexible on salary due to shortage of skills. Internal Infrastructure is still poor as JLR has outgrown itself exponentially over the last few years and therefore the infrastructure still can't keep up. This is still evident today and will impact your day to day life at JLR.
