Pros

Serving the community, dedicated staff.

Cons

Nobody to help. There is no HR department. If you’d like to discuss concerns with management you can file a grievance that goes to Miriam’s inbox. Or be told “you’ll have to discuss this with them eventually.” Staff are put in charge of calling out management instead of Miriam or the board. Staff are talked about as disposable beings. “They’ll be gone soon.” “They knew their time was coming.” It’s just a difficult work environment because nobody feels safe in their jobs because employees are dropping like flies. Half a dozen fired this year. But they’re just cleaning up I guess.

Pros

The staff is really passionate about the work they do and making a difference. I am so inspired by the people I work with. Overall, JF&CS has some amazing managers who truly care for their staff. My own manager has always made me feel valued. We recently transitioned to a new CEO with a powerful vision who will move our agency forward to great places. It's a compassionate, positive work environment that I am proud to be a part of.

Cons

Medical premiums are not affordable to staff with family.
