Pros

Experience office environment and prioritizing tasks - especially during three months prior to NYFW show. Learn real-time and attend show at end of internship

Cons

Constantly running around, picking up garments, sourcing trims and fabric for garments, and virtually no downtime. No acknowledgement of existence by head designer/company owner.

Pros

You learn a lot about how a small business like Jen Kao works. You also learn to work as a team which is great.

Cons

It is very fast-paced and you won't just be sitting around doing nothing. You will be running around doing all sorts of things but in the end you will learn a lot about the resources in the fashion district and organization.

Pros

Absolutely one of the best experiences in the fashion industry. It was fast paced, hard and very hands on so I've learned a lot here. Its a very tough environment but I loved their work , and I am very passionate in what I do so I was very eager to learn everything there. Also, Ive been given to help out with actually designing a few of their accessory pieces, so that was really awesome see them on the runway.

Cons

You work extreme hours around fashion week time without much sleep and there is no pay but they do cover lunch and dinner.
