Pros

I only worked at Jc Penney was my first job. It was seasonal. I enjoined it. I was paid $7.25, and I wasn't complaining since this was my first job. I worked down at the Housewares department so it was pretty easy and laid-back compared to the other departments. Since I was seasonal, they gave me just a tad few hours and I didn't complain at all. I loved my manager, she was the best. She really wasn't as cold and stuffy as the rest of them. Especially when it came to closing. If you are closing be prepared to help other departments close ESPECIALLY during the holidays and weekends. When I worked there I was always helping the Children Department close and that wasn't fun at all. The discount isn't that bad either. You get 25% off. And they are pretty flexible with your schedule. As long as you let them know ahead of time what days you want off, they will give it to you. Overall, Jc Penney is a great place to work. Especially if it is your first job. However if you want to move up, good luck. Its hard to do

Cons

If you are new expect some managers to be a tad bit cold towards you.

Pros

If you like working early morning hours and getting off early in the afternoon (which I do) this is a great part-time job. I was a college student when I worked here so it worked perfectly with my schedule. The pay is pretty decent and the people you work with are friendly.

Cons

Only real downside is that it's retail. You're going to run into some rude customers from time to time. There's always work to do and not enough time given to do it sometimes. But as long as you work hard and managers see that you're trying your best there isn't too much pressure put on you.
