Pros

- Surrounded by genuinely talented, supportive, and compassionate colleagues who consistently help one another through difficult situations. - Provides extensive exposure to localization workflows, cross-functional collaboration, and complex project environments. - Offers a steep learning curve and the opportunity to develop adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving skills under demanding circumstances. - An excellent place for newcomers to gain firsthand experience in the localization industry and understand how large-scale operations function.

Cons

- The pace of work can be relentless, creating an environment where employees often feel pressured to perform at maximum capacity at all times. - There is little room for fatigue, recovery, reflection, or personal well-being because projects are constantly moving and deadlines are treated as non-negotiable. - Work is frequently optimized for speed and delivery rather than quality, leaving insufficient time for thoughtful execution, refinement, and long-term improvements. - Many operational challenges appear to stem from structural issues that remain unresolved, resulting in teams collectively carrying the burden instead of addressing root causes. - Employees often find themselves passing pressure to co-worker, vendors, or stakeholders simply to keep projects on schedule, even when everyone involved is already overwhelmed. - The company is filled with capable and dedicated people who care deeply about their work, yet the environment can unintentionally normalize chronic stress and overwork. - While localization is an exciting and rewarding field, prolonged exposure to this pace can eventually lead to burnout and diminish the desire to continue learning or growing within the organization. - The increasing emphasis on AI-assisted workflows can sometimes come at the expense of recognizing the expertise, creativity, and professional judgment of linguists. - Localization is increasingly treated as a post-editing function rather than a creative and cultural discipline, leaving translators and language professionals feeling more like reviewers of machine-generated content than specialists in communication. - There is a growing expectation for language professionals to refine, correct, and effectively improve AI-generated outputs without sufficient acknowledgment of the intellectual and creative effort involved. - While AI can be a useful tool, overreliance on automation risks undervaluing the cultural understanding, nuance, and human insight that make localization truly effective.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced review of your experience at Iyuno. We are pleased to hear that you found your colleagues to be talented, supportive, and compassionate, and that your time with us provided valuable exposure to the complexity and collaborative nature of the localization industry. The dedication and expertise of our people remain one of our greatest strengths. At the same time, we appreciate your candid feedback regarding workload intensity, operational pressures, and the potential impact these factors can have on employee well-being. The localization industry often operates within demanding timelines and evolving client expectations, but we recognize that long-term success depends on creating an environment where people can do their best work sustainably. Feedback such as yours helps us continue evaluating our processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and addressing challenges that may contribute to unnecessary strain. We also value your perspective on the evolving role of technology in localization. At Iyuno, we believe that AI and other emerging technologies should serve as tools that support and enhance human expertise, rather than diminish the critical contributions of linguists and localization professionals. Cultural understanding, creativity, nuance, and professional judgment remain essential to delivering high-quality localized content, and we recognize the importance of ensuring these skills continue to be respected and valued. Thank you again for sharing your experience and insights. We wish you every success in your future endeavors and appreciate the role you played during your time with Iyuno.

Pros

At the beginning, I had stable work and didn’t have to worry about making ends meet. Iyuno was enough as my main income, and I could live comfortably.

Cons

Over time, my workload was gradually reduced without any explanation, despite having five years of experience and consistently high-quality work. I was effectively replaced by new translators while being kept in the dark. This has left me uncertain about my future, and unfortunately, I can no longer rely on Iyuno as a primary source of income. After years of dedication and turning down other opportunities to stay loyal, this outcome is very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback and for the years you contributed as a freelance subtitler. We value the expertise and commitment of our freelance community and are sorry to hear this was your experience. Work volumes in our industry can shift based on client demand, language needs, and project mix. That said, we recognize that changes without clear communication can be frustrating, especially for long-standing contributors. We expect our teams to engage with freelancers respectfully and transparently, and we do not support practices that leave contributors feeling overlooked or disregarded. Your feedback highlights an area where we must continue to improve. Iyuno values quality, experience, and professionalism, and we do not reduce opportunities based on individuals raising questions or concerns. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. We wish you continued success.
