Pros

Good Pay, work-life balance, liberty to work from home. Less work pressure. So, in the mean time you can learn more about other bleeding edge technologies using their bandwidth. (or you can do facebook and youtube like most of the engineers.) A few very good and organized engineers. Some people are very sincere.

Cons

Most of the people in Ixia are very lazy, roam about in the office, make useless side talks and blame on each other upon failing to achieve deadline. They are still writing codes as they used to 10 years ago no urge to adapt. A few employees need to be fired asap, they just come to office to gossip and remote babysitting their daughters/sons. all time on the phone. Some of these fire-able higher level employees comes to office only 2-3 days a week. Thus affecting all the engineers who are dependent on them, hindering their growth and lowering their job satisfaction. Performance evaluation system is just on their mood, your work doesn't mean a thing. If you join your manager in their side talks, you will get your full bonus and appreciation. But some managers are really good they have good technical knowledge and really know how to adapt and make a solid hard project.

Pros

Have worked with great folks in a few sites that do work and play hard - like what they do, share well, open. Most managers seem to really want to work hard and share the success. Pay is good. Relaxed environment. New CEO in late 2014 looks good and will see what shapes up. Communication has gotten better. Some nice benefits in lunch perks, free soda's but many other companies are doing more perks in hi-tech.

Cons

2014 was a mess of a year for the company. One CEO ousted, interim CEO and then new CEO. Layoffs summer of 2014. Losing good folks to other hi-tech opportunities over past months. We are in a interesting niche field but many others looking to get in and play. 2015 will be a make or break year so I would wait a year to see how things go. Some reviews here mention negative reviews by folks that have been laid off but those that I knew that were laid off got good new jobs and are happy where they are now.
