Pros
Somehow they still have an incredible staff that bond like family... despite the owners' lack of awareness & leadership skills to create a positive company culture
Cons
Don't speak up that you are feeling overworked or starting to feel burn out from working extremely long hours (60-80hrs/week) in order to be the owners unreasonable expectations - even after he's acknowledged for years that he knows there's way too much on your plate -- he'll pretend he's empathetic, encouraging your growth within the company while acknowledging that requires assistance to you & continually speaking to how much he appreciates your hard work, dedication & all the long hours you put in while assuring you to keep hanging in there in the meantime. ---- FACT CHECK: he's not going to encourage your growth as he says, he's not going to hire the assistant that he's acknowledged is needed in order to allow you to grow within the company, he's not going to respect your time or your life outside of normal work hours --- although, you may be expected to respond to any message within 1-2 hours//never request to move a meeting.... he may take days to respond (he may never acknowledge your request) or cancel 90% of your meetings 5 minutes before it starts... but damn you, if you need to cancel or reschedule causing an inconvenience to him. An owner/leader should encourage their staff to flourish & excel --- knowing that creates an exceptional client experience, promotes a strong positive company & dedicated employees that truly want to growth with the company BUT must be willing to provided the resources needed to meet their own expectations for that role/employee... Unfortunately, he's a close-minded coward, an incredibly terrible leader and sadly, is the owner of a company FULL of talented, dedicated employees---- but is so insanely arrogant, in-genuine, disrespectful & unappreciative that he is going to run it right into the ground.
