Pros

Decent staff discount Really lovely customer base

Cons

Where to even start! I was head hunted by Irregular Choice to be the boutique manager for Melbourne. Insanely excited. But as soon as I started there was no training and no support. I had to figure out most things as I went and when I asked for help or support it was the biggest issue in the world and was treated like I was an idiot. I had my 3 month assessment and any issues that were spoken about I adjusted all within a few weeks and was doing fantastic. I was breezing through my 6 months probationary period and was tolerating the derogatory behaviour behind closed doors because I enjoyed the job. At just over 5 months I was pulled aside and was handed my letter of termination. No notice, no warning, nothing. Upper management have absolutely no idea what they're doing or how to actually run their business. Everyone else is collateral damage. Their products are quite poorly made and most of the pairs I gave gotten from them have cracked, lifted or split. I would never ever recommend Irregular Choice to anyone ever. Do not do it to yourself, stay away from this company.

Pros

The staff - The retail staff employed are almost always colourful, passionate and kind individuals. They make the business what it is and are truly the only reason it was bearable.

Cons

Everything else - The pay - It is just not worth it for the amount of work and termoil in the roles. Almost all areas of the company are underpaid and to call the pay a ‘living wage’ is a joke. The morals - Having worked there for a fair amount of time I came to find that this ‘inclusive’ business was pretty much the exact opposite. Inside the company people were not treated with the respect and care they deserved as well as some incredibly awful things being said which contradicts everything the brand is meant to represent. The quality - For a ‘designer’ brand it really is shocking just how little manufacturing care goes into the products. There are almost always issues with specific shoes and bags as well as manual repairs having to be made IN STORE by staff. It is outrageous with the amount charged for these shoes when they are clearly not worth even half that on average. This brand clearly does not care about the well-being of staff members and or the mental health which leads me to say - DO NOT be fooled by the exterior. It is not worth it by far.
