Pros

Subsidised lunches, free breakfast, 1.5 hour lunch break and GREAT people working there. Opportunity to pursue your education within the company (subject to a few sticky T&Cs, but still fantastic opportunity). You get terrific exposure to professionals in many different and exciting industries. The work/life balance was good.

Cons

The hierarchial structure does an extreme disservice to the majority of the staff. Bad pay for all, due to the company being non-profit. However, the worst thing of all was the toxicity bleeding from the top down - palpable from day 1. Stress levels amongst hardest working staff were very high. People crying in bathrooms was a normal thing to witness and eventually you learned to ignore it if you saw it. Supreme levels of awkwardness amongst certain colleagues as there is a lot of room for whispering, politics and bad-feeling. Management are running on their own agendas, and have their own politics in amongst the top tiers of leadership. This company does not practice what it preaches, and its organisational structure and business plan is not aligned with what is best for the people ensuring their customers return. The persona they present to the world in their adverts and podcasts is the bipolar opposite of what you can expect when you step inside the Administration Block. A real pity, as the turnover has been through the roof in recent years and they are losing the same people who could acheive long-term, sustainable growth if they just authentically invested in them.
