Pros

A young, hardworking, energetic, committed staff that rolls with the punches and ongoing major changes. The scientific advancement being performed at this organization is nonpareil.

Cons

Management is not running things as best as possible. This seems to mostly stem from the COO's lack of understanding with an ever-growing operational undertaking. The organization & CEO try too hard to show its 'cohesiveness' amongst a team that knows otherwise, it all seems very 'showy'. Sometimes trying a bit less to act like something is more authentic and gets better results. This organization has a confused identity - a grassroots/family run start up trying to find it's way in a big boy world - it needs work and help that many (staff) believe could be achieved if mgmt only really truly listened and paid attention to something other than themselves.

Pros

The work is very engaging and customers are generally great to work with. Coworkers are awesome scientists who generally work together collaboratively.

Cons

Post-acquisition by Calyx/CapVest, things have gotten very bad. Benefits have been stripped- benefits which primarily impact women and young families. Parental leave has been halved to 2 weeks, and minor holidays (school/daycare holidays) have been taken away. This company is not family friendly and is not interested in staying competitive in the market with their benefits. If you are a young professional who is considering starting a family soon, this is not the place for you. Salary is lower than industry standard, but historically benefits have made up for this. Without these benefits, there is very little incentive to stay long term.
